Tristar Weyr

15th April 2009 - Authanth has laid her clutch of 21 eggs! A gold included! Things are unsettled around the weyr as T'jas struggles with leadership...

It is the turn 1160, and things are certinaly different in the pern now than what it used to be, wait.. sorry, i'm so rude. My names Taenia, i'm weyrwoman of Tristar Weyr.. and one of three gold riders on pern at present. Authanth is my dragon and she's only 4 turns old.. we live in a world is has been devasted by illness.. and there are a distinct lack of dragons littering the sky.. infact when i last checked numbers were less than 100.. waaay less than 100.. and it all started going wrong 7 turns ago.. back in 1154. 

My mother's dragon, Gold Isalath of Ista weyr was the first dragon to go between.. we didn't know it then, but it was the start of what we call the worse plague pern has even encountered.. it was different than any other.. much different for it affected the dragons - our protectors - instead of humans.. dragons, firelizards and whers alike became sick with this 'mystery' disease and by the end of it, in turn 1156 only ten adults survived.. and 21 eggs. Doesn't seem much does it? When you think back to the start of it when each weyr had over 3,000 strong.. 

1 bronze rider strove to bring us all back from the brink of extinction.. the only bronze rider to have hope that after such destruction..devistation.. sadness.. that dragons could still survive. That person was L'rai, rider of bronze Galith. It's because of him that we are even here today.. those eggs have hatched, those 21 dragons have reached maturity.. Tristar now lies in my hands.. mine and those that remain.
